Smartphones have become a necessity in daily life, but did you know you can use your smartphone for much more than to just send texts and call your loved ones? Keep reading to check out some of our favourite smartphone tricks!
Scan a QR Code Without An App
Did you know you can scan a QR code from your phone without downloading a dedicated app. To scan a QR code from your phone simply open the camera app and choose the rear facing camera. Make sure that the QR code appears in the viewfinder. If the QR code is recognised you’ll see a notification, click the notification to open the link.
Share Your Phone Screen On Your TV
If you're an iPhone user you can share your screen to your Apple TV. To do this simply swipe up on your iPhone’s home screen and you’ll see an option for screen mirroring. If you’re an android user you can easily share your phone screen to your TV using a Chromecast.
Power On Your Lights
This is one of our favourite tricks! If you have wifi-enabled bulbs in your home you can control the light settings from your phone. This feature has many benefits, such as saving energy by turning them off, or protecting your home by making it look occupied, even while you’re out!
Create Text & Emoji Shortcuts
There are many shortcuts to master on desktops, but did you know you can create your own shortcuts on your smartphone? Simply go to settings, keyboard and then select text replacement.
Shake to Undo Mistakes
Did you know you can quickly and easily undo a mistake by simply shaking your phone? To put this super handy feature to good use simply shake your iPhone and an option to undo what you’ve just written will pop up.
Document Scanner
You can use your iPhone as a document scanner, simply open the notes app, tap the icon in the lower right corner, then select the camera icon and select scan documents. Place the document in view of the camera and it will scan automatically.
